In times of crisis, the Federal Procurement Agency (BBG) plays a central role in Austrian public procurement. The BBG is a solution partner for COVID vaccine logistics. The vaccines are ordered directly, in exactly the quantity needed, by each nursing home, vaccinating physician, and vaccine access point. The BBG provides the corresponding ordering tool. Within just 6 weeks, the agency was able to establish a connection between the pharmaceutical distributors and each ordering party. The BBG handles all of this through its e-Shop.
